Gleanr is a Vancouver based startup which helps people discover great content online. I worked on this project as a student at Capilano University, on a team with Carlos Lavara, Melodie Devlin-Joyal, Tina Lo, and Nick Klein.
My team created a task list for test participants that walked them through the steps involved in creating an account on gleanr, adding content from the web, and finding content from other gleanr users. After feedback on the task list from the Gleanr team, we tested 4 potential users of the site to see what issues that had with performing these tasks.
For testing, we used both Silverback and Morae.
Our research revealed key user experience issues for the Gleanr team to address in their development. These issues centered around conveying the value of the site to new users, and providing more direct paths to site functionality.
We conveyed our findings to Gleanr in both a Testing Report, and a presentation that combined video of the testers with our recommendations.
